Assign tone to contact V3m

I have successfully hacked my V3m Verizon phone with p2k commander but have one issue. A few of the mp3 tones copied to the default ringtone file of the phone will not allow assignment to a contact as a tone. The tone plays perfectly on the phone. I have changed the attributes of the tones to match the ones that can be assigned to contacts and still nothing. Has anyone else overcome this problem? Thank so much.
