ok im veryy new at this. i dont understand the terms n not sure if im doin any of this right. lol i need a tutorial for dummys.

1) what does linux mean and what are linux phones?
2) what are seems? what is the purpose of editing them?
3)how do u know if u have a linux based phone?

i think i am doing something wrong. when i bought a ringtone, applying as a ringtone would not work since i started using p2k. i tried to use p2k to edit those attributes so i could apply as but the actual sound did not play. it sounded like that "riing riing" tone again... this sound seems to come up often and i dont know why. a song was said to be corrupt so i deleted it but is it possible a corrupt song can corrupt others?

1. Linux is an Operating system, can run on various hardware platforms (as windows)
on PC ofcurse and on mobile devices too (just like "windows mobile" or "windows CE")
Motorola uses various OS es on his mobile devices, older models has "SynergyOS", newer ones uses linux.

2. Seems are memory cells , holding some configuration settings.
Changing seems you can modify your device behaviour
eg: by setting or clearing certain seem bit, you can enable/disable uploading java application to the phone. This is usually disabled by default, to enforce users to buy java games from service providers.

3. ask google, Z6m is not linux based afaik
this is cdma, cdma is not GSM and there is some major differences
