P2k commander works for my krzr k1, but i don't understand the list of seems. I'm trying to make the phone let me use my mp3's and audio clips as ringtones, caller id's and alarm clock ringers. Any step by step help would be appreciated!

look at /a/mobile/audio or /c/mobile/audio there are ringtones, you can upload mp3s here (pay attention to kb/s 64,and 128 is ok, variable kb/s is not ok i think) after uploading you must delete two db files (mytone and temptone)
then in your phone menu you can assign ringtones to callers and alarms
seems are numbers thats right, and there is so called seem map, describing what bit is what
or you can try F6 , this is my seem function table, but i dont know if it krazr compatible
Good luck

No, i think mobile phone volume NOT your local HDD volume recent motorola phones has more than 1 partitions/volumes one is /a used to system files and /c used to user files you can see in middle of this video: http://www.el-co.hu/p2k05/p2klog.htm

ok well when i bring up the drop down menu on the right side, there is only one out of the four slots filled the other three are empty. the only file (/a) does have a file labelled audio, but there are no .db files top delete. ive looked almost everywhere and the only .db file i can find so far is one under P2K:/a/mobile/system and the file is called audio_cfg.db

any suggestions where to head to next?

ok well i think i have everything under control, but my mp3's are still locked against ringtones and message tones and alarms. the only problem i can think of after reading countless threads is that i cannot find and .db or .tmp files to delete, because everything tells me to delete mytones.db or something like that. the only ones i can find are under /a/mobile/system/ and /a/mobile/msgdb these files are: audio_cfg.db EMS_embed.tmp EMS_save.tmp EMS_view.tmp should i delete any of these?

Do NOT delete audio_cfg.db, this is the global volume config file , its vital.

I have heard "bitpim" can see mytone.db file, but bitpim cannot do what p2kc can. So it is recommended to use both application. Sorry i have no experience with KRZR.
found this with google: you don't use bitpim to modify the files. just upload new ones and/or delete others...
also found this: You can if you use P2k and change the attributes to "system"...this allows you to assign the ringer, but it also disallows the deletion of the sound through the phone. If you want to delete it, change the attributes back to what it was originally.
