This version of p2k-core and p2kc do not get my phone model listed. Also, I can not list files in p2kc

p2k-core lists them but p2kc does this:

Code:
(p2kc:4772): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_stpcpy: assertion `src != NULL' failed
12:41:56 URL:http://www.el-co.hu/dl/p2kc/Latest [28/28] -> "/home/stephen/P2KCLATEST" [1]
*** stack smashing detected ***: ./p2k-core/p2k-core terminated

If you want to use he binary package on your linuxbox, you can:
unzip the content into a folder
- and run "./p2kc" from command line (while you are in that folder)
- or after unzipping do this as root "make install" (from that folder) then ypou can start app with "p2kc" command from anywhere

I registered just to be able to say THANK YOU.
p2kc/core is the only software for linux that works natively with my v3xx (moto4lin chokes upon switching to p2k mode).
Before I discovered it, I was running p2kcommander, et al via Parallels/VMWare.

p2kc Segfaults/coredumps with the folder creation or delete options. p2kc-core works fine in that respect though. doenesn't core dump, but doesn't seem to create directories.
Anything I can provide for troubleshooting (verbose output, etc...)?

Maybe some bugs here.
p2k-core will do i think, but you must upload at least one file into a newly created folder, after folder creation.
empty folder will not shown, but you can copy files into it.
in p2k-core enter help, or the 4 letter command itself, you will got help sentence.

I have no luck with my CDMA V3m... while it works with P2KCommander on Wintendo, i get this error trying to use it on Linux (Fedora Core 6_64 bit, BTW):

Quote
Looking for update.
Starting engine.
P2k-core V_1.5 activated.
 Search for Motorola USBLAN Interface.
 Search for Motorola Test Command.
 Search for Motorola Data Interface.
 Found Interface: Motorola Communication Interface
 Inteface number: 00, Endpoints: 81 00
Switching to P2kmode (cca. 2-3 sec)
!error: bulk write failed

So it fails to put the phone in P2K mode. Now, if i use another tool to put the phone in P2K mode (for example: p2ktest from Moto4lin):

Quote
Looking for update.
Starting engine.
P2k-core V_1.5 activated.
 Search for Motorola USBLAN Interface.
 Search for Motorola Test Command.
 Found Interface: Motorola Test Command
 Inteface number: 00, Endpoints: 00 00
 This is P2k phone.
 Phone model:

If i select "p2k: /a" on the drive list, and hit "Re-Read", another blank "Phone model:" line appears on the log, and after 10 seconds, the program simply quits (no error messages, no segfaults, no nada! It just dies...)

With p2k-core, the same things happen... (i also need here to enter P2K mode from other app)
Quote
[tomman@tomman_lp_c2 p2k-core]$ ./p2k-core
V_1.5 Commands: exit,conn,info,seem,file,fold,mode,help,list
Shell commands and command history (up/down arrows) also works.
---------------------------------------------------------------
 Search for Motorola USBLAN Interface.
 Search for Motorola Test Command.
 Found Interface: Motorola Test Command
 Inteface number: 00, Endpoints: 00 00
 This is P2k phone.

...and i got the following stuff on my kernel log:

Too bad... i always wanted to hack my Razr on Linux, not only on Wintendo Sad

Actually,  the right command change mode to AT is mode a.

so i'm giving this a go.  and have gotten p2kc to read the phone, a V3re in my case.
i got the same error about UTF-8, perhaps a bit more detail (and I have no idea about programming/development) is
(p2kc:9628): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_convert_with_fallback: assertion `str != NULL' failed

this came from the terminal window that i used to start p2kc.

BTW this really looks and reacts well......
very nice. my compliments

I got p2kc to at least recognize my phone (a v3re) but it crashes when trying to view the filesystem. p2k-core spits out a timeout error on "file list".
