I have a Motorola W385.  I read another link somewhere that P2kcommander does work for this phone.  I don't recall where though.  I downloaded and installed Handset_USB_Driver_32_v3.3.0.msi from the motodev site.  My Windows XP Professional PC does recognize the phone and now that the driver is installed, I can charge the phone via usb.  It also shows up in device manager.  I downloaded P2kCommander-V4.9.E.zip and installed it.  I didn't really find an installation routine.  I just expanded the zip file and ran the P2kCommander.exe.  It does not seem to find my phone.  Am I missing a step here?  Is there something I need to do to make p2kc recognize the phone?  A configuration file I need to set to something?  I played around with the options and all but am not able to get it to connect.  Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

I don't get any new devices when launching p2kcommander. Attached is a screenprint. The log when I attempt to connect with p2kcommander is as follows...

Message file loaded.
H:\Working\P2kCommander4.9E
Open Internet connection.
Check if update available.
Sorry, no update available yet.
P2kCommander launched.
No p2k device found, NOT connected!

I guess I am not allowed to post attachments.  The only think I see in device manager is as follows...

Under Modems, "Motorola USB Modem"
Under Ports, "Motorola USB Diagnostic Port (COM7)
Under Universal Serial Bus controllers, "Motorola USB Composite Device"

I don't see any changes when I start P2kCommander.

I forgot to mention, this is a Verizon phone.  I think I heard they lock their phones down some how so would that have anything to do with my problem?  Thanks.

It looks like there is  a solution:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1240976&highlight=w385

or your w385 has new firmware which uses different interfaces
in this case it needs further investigation, pls let me know and i will post some instructions to spy interface details

Awesome! That worked.  I am able to get into my phone.  For anyone else trying this, I think the trick was pointing to the USB port and using the fast commands.  I was able to keep the newer versions of the driver and p2kc.

Thanks for your help!
