pls check in options if you dont use file filter
and what is in mobile folder?
pls exit after your operations and post ".log" file here.

afaik temptonedb and mytonedb are in mobile/audio folder
and pls pay attention to volumes
maybe there are /a , /c or /c volumes present

Suggestions:
- In options pls uncheck file filter
- rename your mp3 on hdd to avoid space and spec chars in filename eg: Zelda.mp3
- navigate on the right panel p2k drive: /a/mobile/audio
- navigate on the left local hdd: Zelda.mp3
- Press copy (or F5)

Yes, you must delete temptonedb and mytonedb (or similar) in audio folder
these are index files, if not present phone will re-generate them
you must re-start phone and new mp3 will appear on ringtone menu

Hi Guys I am a noob at this and have been spending all day trying to figure this out. I am using the latest version of P2kCommander, and the drivers I am using are the Motorola 2.9 drivers I do believe for the phone. I am able to connect to the phone fine and am able to see all the files in the phone. I can even see that songs the MPss that I have uploaded into the phone that I cropped using Motorola Phone Tools (the songs even have short names, and they are only one word and no spaces). However I am unable to find the MyToneDB.db file under any directory at all. I even did a search for all files that had an extension of .db and I was only able to find one file and that was audio_cfg.db. And I tried removing it (after making a copy of it) and all that did was take away all sound from my phone all together. Putting the file back restored my sound. But I am pulling my hair out at this point. I am using the Motorola KRZR K1 phone (The Red Music Phone if that makes a difference), and I just cannot figure it out, I have been through nearly every forum and I cant find a solution anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

where exactly can I find this temptonedb and mytonedb file?
I actually have done everything else, I've restarted my phone, the mp3 file is on my phone and I can play it but it does not show up in my list of ring tones that I can select. Any ideas? Much appreciated

pls read this:
http://mark.cdmaforums.com/P2KC-Tones.htm

"NOTE: When adding or deleting ringtones with P2KCommander, you must also delete a/MyToneDB.DB from the phone, then power the phone off/on.  The MyToneDB.DB file will be recreated, and your new tones will show on the phone and be allowed as ring tones.  Because the MyToneDB.DB is the "master index" to the ring tones, deleting and recreating this file causes all ring tones to be re-indexed.. as such, your custom selections of tones for Ring Styles or Caller ID WILL change.

NOTE: K1M and L7C users:  Per some posts in the Verizon/Moto section at HowardForums... Ring Tones need to be put in a/motorola/shared/ringtones   then "Highlight the ringtone you copied over. click on the 'ATTRIBUTES' button in the lower right side within P2K Commander. Check the two boxes 1) Readonly, cannot overwrite/delete AND 2) System, survive Master reset/clear. Repeat this process as you copy ringtones to this folder."

Thanks s5vi, I checked out the link but unfortunately what it suggested did not work either.

I first tried to find a/MyToneDB.DB file but I was unable to (I went through all my phone's folders). Then I went into the "Attributes" of the audio files I had transfered into the audio folder of my phone and checked both the boxes (read only...and master clear...), restarted my phone, still no success. Then I found this file "audio_cfg.db" in the system folder which was the only .db I could find, so I figured I would delete and see what would happen (i Copied it first, just in case) and then I restarted my phone. All that did was remove any and all sound from my phone, so I copied it back and now I'm back to square 1. I would post screenshots of what folders/files are in my phone but they're the same as the guy who posted above.
Any other suggestions?
